Football United has secured $400,000 with key partners Common Goal, UEFA, FIFA, Adidas, The University of NSW, Creating Chances, and Gilbert + Tobin for Festival23!
With only 4 months to go, we are $200,000 away from our fundraising goal to ensure Festival23 - designed for young people and communities across Australia and the globe - is a success.
Driven by youth leadership and global sustainable goals, Festival23 will set in motion a legacy to build a healthier NSW, embedding localised long-term development through Football programs that drive inclusion and well-being for all.
Festival23 is being held in Sydney, during the quarter-final stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup to inspire society - to embrace values of equity and the inclusive spirit of women’s football - and celebrate the potential of football to not just benefit the lives of athletes but to build the capacity of young people to advocate on important issues such as employment, social cohesion, inclusion, gender equity, and climate action.
Festival23 week will be held between 6th-13th August and includes:
60 female young leaders (18-30 years) working in Football for Good organisations across the world and Australia were invited to participate in and contribute to over 10 experiential leadership and inclusive coaching workshops, football tournaments, cultural exchange activities, and a Football for Good summit
10 community Gala Days planned by these young leaders, delivered to 1500 children aged 12-16 years across various locations in Sydney
1 Fair Play Football Tournament reaching 200 children and young people aged 12-16 years facilitated by the young leaders held at state-of-the-art facilities at Sky Park, Sydney FC (Macquarie) or UNSW Sydney
1 Football for Good Summit inviting high-profile guests from FIFA, Adidas, and a number of partners to engage in a number of panels and roundtable discussions on gender equity in football
